What I Want To Do
My plans for my Substack.
I’m glad I finally decided on Substack as the spot for my writing and creative media projects. I tried out a few different apps and platforms these past few years but none were the right fit.
Either I was shadowbanned (X/Twitter), no one cared to follow me to the platform (Sunroom) or a bit of both (Meta and TikTok).
Of course, most of those platforms are used for short form video content (even though they say they want users to post more long form storytelling). While I do enjoy making chatty videos I’m more of a writer when it comes to sharing my big deep thoughts. I feel at home with the written word.
With that in mind I want to share with you how I plan on using my Substack.
E-mail & Posts
Once a month there will be post for all subscribers— free and paid. It’ll be a bit of a looking back and looking forward type of post. I won’t be going deep on any one topic or concern but you’ll get a sense of what I’ve been up to and what’s been on my mind.
Weekly posts will be available to paid subscribers. In these posts I’ll be writing articles, essays and intimate journals about the topics that I’m passionate about— ageing, femininity, menopause, relationships, sex work, sexuality, and wellness.
Check out the notes tab for some short observations and updates from me.
Once a month I’ll be hosting a live chat for paid subscribers. I think using Esther Perel’s BOX as a topic starter will be fun and insightful way to connect.
Substack has the option of hosting a podcast and this interests me very much though this requires a certain amount of preparation and production that I’m not yet prepared to do. I want to wait until I have consistent blogging under my belt. So this falls under the category of maybe. I might dabble wit audio posts to get some experience and go from there.
Comments & Connection
I hope people will take the opportunity to comment on my posts and engage kindly with other readers in the comments. I’ll be here every day.
